Emerging from a period of profound physical and spiritual transformation following a near-fatal accident in 2023, these works created during the stages of recovery, while limited to the use of only one side of my body, represent negotiation between vulnerability and endurance. Executed in charcoal and pastel, each work reflects a practice shaped by restriction yet guided by conviction. The marks become records of perseverance, while imagery serves as a meditation on restoration, grace, and the unseen forces that sustain us through moments of uncertainty.
Rather than documenting trauma, this collection contemplates renewal. Each piece stands as testaments to faith, resilience, and the possibility of transcendence found within human fragility. Through the material immediacy and spiritual undertones, I invite viewers to consider the intersections of suffering, healing, and redemption that connect the personal to the universal.

EGO-DEATH

In the anniversary of what I have come to regard as my second chance at life, I felt compelled to sit in stillness and reflect more deeply upon the unspoken moments of revelation that challenged my understanding of life, death, purpose, and consciousness; experiencing these profound visions during the transition between unconsciousness and awakening moments that existed somewhere between this world and another. The reality of spiritual warfare and the belief that there is a conflict taking place beyond the limits of ordinary human perception. While much of this conflict remains hidden, its effects are felt through the choices, convictions, struggles, and transformations that shape the human experience.  

These works are not intended as literal depictions of those encounters, but rather as visual testimonies to what was revealed to me during that passage. These works invite viewers not toward certainty, but toward observation; to consider the possibility that there is more occurring around us than what can be immediately seen.

SEASON OF INSTRUCTION

This body of work marks a profound return to what I describe as my spiritual works after a season of servitude, this has been a familiar artistic language revisited and expanded through experiences, revelations, and understanding. Within these compositions, I explored the intersection of faith, intuition, and transformation, viewing the creative process itself as both a devotional act and a form of revelation. Each piece has served as a visual meditation, reflecting on the ways guidance, surrender, and uncertainty have shaped not only my artistic practice but also my spiritual journey. I seek to create spaces for contemplation, inviting viewers to engage with questions of belief, purpose, resilience, and the human condition. These works have represented deeply personal testimonies of growth and discovery artifacts of a continuing dialogue between the seen and unseen, the earthly and the divine.

SENTINELS: PART ONE

These works are unfolding as a fragmented procession suspended somewhere between ritual and revelation. The “beings” that emerge within them are not intended as literal representations, but as beings carrying the tension of communion, occupying the fragile space between humanity and collective salvation. I see them as wanderers moving through uncertainty, bearing symbols of devotion while remaining unsure of what awaits them beyond the journey.

Through this body of work, I am exploring themes of communal suffering, faith, and sacred transmission. I am interested in the ways redemption may reveal itself not through grand gestures, but through shared vulnerability and our willingness to carry one another's unseen burdens. Each composition functions as a contemporary parable: raw, imperfect, and searching; illuminated by echoes of scripture and spiritual reflection without ever fully surrendering to doctrine. In this space, the work has invited continuing contemplation on what it means to seek grace, connection, and meaning amid uncertainty.
