Inspiration from the late Gordon Parks and his unparalleled ability to capture the raw truths of culture and lived experience, the Americana Series serves as homage and reflection. I revisit the visual language of the American South; translating memories, histories, and ancestral narratives onto canvas using oil and charcoal as my medium of choice, allowing the material itself to echo the resilience, dignity, and enduring strength embedded within Black culture. These works honor the past while inviting contemporary dialogue on identity, perseverance, and collective memory.
